Andrew Heaney To Make Season Debut Sunday
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Andrew Heaney (elbow) will come off the injured list and make his season debut on Sunday against the Rangers, according to manager Brad Ausmus. When he's right, the 27-year-old left-hander can be the ace of the staff after he posted a 4.15 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 9.0 K/9 in 180 innings (30 starts) for the Halos in 2018. There's always the risk of an injury, but Heaney needs to be owned in all leagues. Starting him in his first game back against Texas is a little more risky, as he might not go long enough to qualify for a quality start. Heaney fanned 10 in 4 1/3 innings in a rehab start at Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
