5 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Andrew Heaney avoided salary arbitration on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $4.3 million deal, according to a source. Heaney made just 18 starts for the Halos in 2019 due to injury and went 4-6 with a 4.91 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 118 strikeouts in 95 1/3 innings pitched. There is bounce-back potential for the 28-year-old left-hander if he can stay healthy all year, and his strikeout upside is evident with a K/9 10.0 or above in three of the last four seasons.
