Amari Rodgers Joining The Packers
4 years agoThe Green Bay Packers selected Clemson wide receiver Amari Rodgers with the No. 85 overall pick in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft on Friday night. The Packers traded up to make this pick. Rodgers has the athleticism to get open underneath and tracks the ball well downfield. He's been compared to a poor man's Deebo Samuel. But at 5-foot-10, 210 pounds, his short arms don't give him much downfield prowess. Green Bay finally took a receiver, but will this be enough to keep quarterback Aaron Rodgers in town? The wideout Rodgers will compete in training camp to play in three-wide sets alongside Davante Adams and Allen Lazard. He has the potential to be a dynamic slot presence with good, but not elite, top-end speed.
