Amari Cooper A High-End WR2 In Week 17
12 months agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper is coming off a record-setting 265-yard, two-touchdown game in a Week 16 win over the Houston Texans. He will look for an encore in Week 17's Thursday game against the New York Jets. Cooper hasn't practiced yet this week as he is listed with "rest/heel" as his injury designation. The Browns have been giving him veteran rest days throughout the season, however, so his status for Week 17 should be safe. It is tempting to lock Cooper in as a no-brainer high-end WR1 in Week 17 but the Jets have dominated opposing wide receivers this season as they allow the fewest fantasy points per game to the position. Cooper has been playing extremely well with Joe Flacco under center but it is worth tempering expectations for the star receiver in Week 17. Treat him as a high-end WR2.
