The Washington Football Team plans to keep quarterback Alex Smith (leg) on their 53-man roster for the start of the regular season, according to sources. Smith has been battling to return to football for almost two full years after breaking his leg and dealing with multiple complications that almost cost him his leg. There remains plenty of uncertainty regarding Smith's health, and his place on the depth chart behind Dwayne Haskins remains to be seen. He's due $16 million fully guaranteed in 2020. While still recovering, Smith is expected to be a mentor for Haskins in his second season after he made seven starts and nine appearances in 2019 as a rookie.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
