Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin scored three third-period goals in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kings, posting his 27th career hat trick. John Carlson was Ovi's co-star in the game with one goal and two assists. Ovechkin has now scored three hat tricks in his last six games, and he's averaged two goals per game across his last seven outings. He now sits on 698 career goals ahead of Saturday's clash with the Flyers. The Caps captain failed to score in two previous head to head meetings this season, but the way he's performing right now, he could easily be in the 700-goal club before the week is finished.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
