6/1:Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Aledmys Diaz (ankle) will be activated from the disabled list on Friday. Diaz has been out since the start of May due to a sprained left ankle, but he returns to a potentially uncertain playing time situation. Third baseman Josh Donaldson is currently sitting with a calf injury but should return in a few days. Once he does, Yangervis Solarte likely continues to man shortstop with the way he’s been hitting, and Toronto seems insistent on playing Devon Travis at second base. As such, there’s no clear spot for Diaz to play daily, but it’s definitely possible he gets shifted around a bit to get him on the diamond more. Diaz was slashing a poor .216/.273/.431 prior to the injury, but he did have six home runs across 102 at-bats.--John Smith
