Akil Baddoo Slugs Third Spring Home Run
4 years agoDetroit Tigers outfield prospect Akil Baddoo continued his torrid spring on Tuesday with his third home run. Through 12 games, he's 9-for-23 (.391) with five extra-base hits. He has also shown excellent patience with a BB-K of 8-7. Just 22, Baddoo was a Rule 5 draft pick out of the Minnesota Twins organization over the winter and must remain on the Tigers' big league roster all season or be offered back to his original organization. He has yet to officially play above high-A ball and appeared in just 29 games in 2019 due to Tommy John surgery. If the club keeps the young outfielder, it will likely push Victor Reyes down to the club's alternate training site.
