49ers Talks Ongoing With Carlos Hyde
7 years agoSan Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said the team had contract discussions with impending free-agent running back Carlos Hyde throughout the season. They haven't been able to come to an agreement, but the 49ers have continued discussions with Hyde, although nothing is imminent. Hyde had a career-high 240 carries for 940 yards (career-low 3.9 yards per carry) and a career-high eight touchdowns, but it seems as though the 49ers are ready to move on, as Hyde doesn't exactly fit well in head coach Kyle Shanahan's system. Joe Williams and Matt Breida could be in for much bigger roles if San Fran lets Hyde walk in free agency, which appears to be the way this will shake out.
