ANALYSIS: With the Toronto Blue Jays placing shortstop Bo Bichette on the 10-day injured list, the team called up their No. 2 prospect, Orelvis Martinez, on Tuesday afternoon. It was only a matter of time until Martinez got his shot in the big leagues after tearing it up at Triple-A this season.
MLB Pipeline's No. 68 overall prospect was hitting .260 with 16 home runs, 14 doubles, and 46 RBI before his promotion. Martinez has also been on fire at the plate over the last 10 games, hitting .378 with three HRs and six RBI. Fantasy managers are hoping that hot streak can continue in the majors.

The Blue Jays top prospect has been very effective, posting a 119 wRC+ in 269 PA. Martinez possesses some of the best power in the minors and has blasted 16 HR.
He is an aggressive swinger who is prone to whiffs, but not chases.

Given his potential power numbers in Toronto, Martinez should be added in most 12-plus team leagues. He hit at least 28 home runs in three straight minor league seasons from 2021 to 2023, and it would be somewhat of a surprise to see him optioned when Bichette returns. So, fantasy managers could be looking at a long-term add here.
