Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for April 23rd of the 2015/2016 NHL season. Each day we'll be providing you with a handful of forward, defensemen, and goaltender picks for DraftKings and FanDuel GPP and cash games.

The first round is starting to wind down with teams starting to get eliminated. There are three games today with two elimination games.

First up is the Rangers trying to stay alive vs. the Penguins. Then the Predators travel to Anaheim to face the Ducks in what is now a mini best of three with home ice shifting back to the Ducks. We then cap the night off in Chicago as the Blackhawks will try to avoid elimination vs. the Blues.

NHL DFS Picks for Saturday, April 23rd

A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.

For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find payers who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.

Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.

Frederik Andersen - Goaltender, Ducks (Draftkings - $8,200  FanDuel - $9,500)

The Ducks appeared to be in deep trouble after dropping the first two games of the series on home ice. Then they switched goalies and everything changed. Andersen has been incredible in his two starts stopping 57 of 58 shots he has faced. Look for the Ducks to to avoid the same mistakes they made to open the series and take control with a win on Saturday night.

Ryan Getzlaf - Center, Ducks (DraftKings - $6,700  FanDuel - $7,600)

He has been consistent in the Ducks opening series with points in three of four games but hasn't had the breakout multi point game. After dropping the first two games at home the Ducks made a goalie change and some other minor adjustments and look more like the team they were during the second half of the season.

Artemi Panarin - Winger, Blackhawks (DraftKings - $6,800  FanDuel - $8,000)

The Bread Man is having a terrific series for a rookie with his first taste of the playoffs. He went pointless in game one but has points in four straight games coming into this elimination game for the Hawks who look to fight another day. Expect a big game from the Hawks top line.

Conor Sheary - Winger, Penguins (DraftKings - $3,100  FanDuel - $3,600)

Anybody playing on the top line with Crosby is going to have added value. Sheary also comes at near minimum pricing on both sites and is close to a must play on a small three game slate. Stack him with Crosby and Hornqvist and go cheap at defense for a high upside GPP play.

Duncan Keith - Defense, Blackhawks (DraftKings - $6,200  FanDuel - $6,000)

In his four games in this series he has recorded two multi point games providing terrific GPP upside. Expect another big game from the reigning Conn Smythe winner as the Blackhawks face elimination on home ice.
