Mason Plumlee is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 6 of the 2022-23 NBA season.

ANALYSIS: What happened last Friday in the game between the Cavs and the Hornets could very well be labeled a fluke more than a trend in Mason Plumlee's case. That's because exclusively looking at the center's Friday fantasy numbers, that game ended up turning into his worst of the season since he put up a 2-4-4 dud back in late October.

Plumlee, facing the Cavs a couple of nights ago, finished the matchup with two points, five boards, four dimes, one steal, and one block. Not horrid, but definitely no bueno, either. Plumlee didn't hit a single field-goal attempt for the first time since the start of the season and only lasted 28 minutes before getting eliminated with 6 PF attached to his name.

Before that nightmare of a game, though, Plumlee had put up back-to-back dub-dub outings (18-10 and 12-10, with 5 dimes, 3 steals, and 3 blocks combined between those two performances).

Plumlee has scored 9+ points in five of his last six games and double-digit points in four of those six. He's also grabbed 10+ boards in four games (the four of them turning into double-double nights) and it's been 12 games in a row for the big man pulling down 5+ rebounds and dishing out 2+ assists.

In the last eight games, Plumlee is averaging a virtual 10-10-4-1 rounding up the averages a tiny hair. Just for context and over the first month of play, only three players are still keeping up that line: Giannis, Embiid, and Sabonis.
