BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 8% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The quarterback position has been a real grab-bag for those combing the waiver wire in 2022, and Malik Willis is the most recent of rookies to make their debut start. In his first game against the Texans, Willis passed only ten times for six completions, 55 yards, and an interception, while rushing for 12 yards on five attempts. Far from a triumphant arrival, but if he gets comfortable, his ability holds plenty of potential for whatever remaining opportunity he ends up seeing.
While finishing his college football career at Liberty, Willis passed for 5,107 yards, 47 touchdowns, and 18 picks; while rushing for 1,822 yards and 27 scores. Whether he accomplished this at a mid-major independent or not, those statistics are jaw-dropping. As far as his professional debut: it wasn't of the jaw-dropping variety, and comparisons may not be the most perfect means of projection, but it wasn't much different at all from the debuts of players such as Lamar Jackson in 2018. For the scoring potential packed within his rushing ability alone, Malik Willis is a highly-intriguing option for those in need from the waiver wire in two-QB formats.
