LCK Promotion DFS Picks for 4/29/20: DraftKings, FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Dan Palyo's League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LCK slates on 4/29/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Welcome back RotoBallers to my League of Legends DFS column! We will continue to extend our analysis for LoL DFS across different leagues and sites, bringing you the insight you need to succeed. We are quickly running out of LoL slates and luckily we have a flurry of them this week, so we plan on covering every one of them for you, our loyal readers!

Tonight is the second round of the last LCK promotion series ever; they will be going to a franchise system like the rest of the major leagues. These second-round matches will be best of three and a winner's bracket matchup between the top two from Challengers Korea with the winner locking up a spot in the LCK summer split. The LCK promotion tournament gives us two best of three matches tonight, and there are already some massive contests posted in the DraftKings lobbies.

Today, I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LCK slate on FanDuel and DraftKings that locks at 4:00 AM on Wednesday, April 29th, 2020. I'll be using DraftKings pricing, as FanDuel has not posted a slate yet.

LCK Promotions: Winner's Bracket

4:00 AM: Seorabeol Gaming (-150) vs. Team Dynamics

The winner of this series is guaranteed a spot in the qualifying match and a promotion to the LCK for the Summer Split, so a lot is on the line here. These two teams faced off twice during the CK regular season with SRB taking both matches by the score of 2-0 and 2-1.

SRB had an impressive comeback win over Griffin yesterday after dropping their first game and is the Vegas-backed favorite here. But these teams are very closely matched and Dynamics looked darn good against Sandbox in a 2-0 sweep of their own.

I am only playing GPPs for these LCK slates and I would advise you do the same. These games tend to be unpredictable and I could see this one going either way. SRB was the highest-scoring team on yesterday's slate in their 2-1 win and recency bias should definitely be in full effect here.

SRB should be more popular as the favorite and have the series history on their side, so I lean towards having more exposure to the TD side of this one. SRB have the highest "deaths per loss" of the four teams with 20, giving TD a good bit of upside here as that's a pretty high number for LCK standards.

The pricing on this slate is pretty soft, so you can fit pretty much whatever teams you want and I'll be hedging this series myself.

Prediction: Dynamics 2-1

Top TD Plays:

  • Beyond - JNG ($6,600)
  • GuGer - SUP ($5,000)
  • Kuzan - MID ($7,000)

Top SRB Plays:

  • Sangyoon - ADC ($7,800)
  • Danchung - MID ($7,600)
  • KaKao - JNG (7,000)

Losers' Bracket

7:00 AM: Griffin vs. Sandbox (-140)

Both LCK teams were favored yesterday and lost, showing you just how volatile these games can be (and perhaps how bad these teams really are). Now they must battle their way back through the losers' bracket to avoid relegation so again, we have a lot at stake for both of these teams. They have been a nightmare with sub risks and fluctuating lineups, but we have to pick someone in this game on this slate.

They split their season series during the Spring Split with both teams winning a 2-1 decision. I'll side with Griffin here as they are a team that was at least trending in the right direction at the end of the split and showed some positive signs even in their loss yesterday. They have the best player of these teams in Viper and their core of Viper-Tarzan-Ucal is a formidable one.

They were in the mix in both of the games they lost yesterday and dominated the first game 15-3. I have no confidence in Sandbox whatsoever. They looked horrible in yesterday's match, dropping both games 11-5. They are a mess and I'd much rather go with a more talented Griffin team here. We get a nice discount on them, too, as they are priced as the underdog.

Prediction: Griffin 2-0

Top GRF Plays:

  • Viper - ADC ($7,400)
  • Tarzan - JNG ($6,200)
  •  Ucal - MID ($7,200)

Summary

  1. Even though SRB has match history on their side, I think that DYN has a great chance at an upset. I'll hedge this match.
  2. I'm all in on Griffin over Sandbox, who looked terrible yesterday and are in free-fall.
  3. The safe and smart route for cash games (if you play them) is probably SRB-Griffin, but my favorite combo will be DYN-Griffin for some leverage.
  4. Play some GPPs and let's have some fun!
