Junior Caminero is a fantasy baseball waiver wire stash for Week 12 (2024). Target Junior Caminero as a top prospect free-agent waiver wire pickup for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Stash in All Leagues
CALL-UP ETA: July
ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Rays third base prospect Junior Caminero (quadriceps) has been sidelined since May 29 with a Grade 2 quadriceps strain and is not expected to return until July. However, this presents an excellent buy-low opportunity for one of the sport’s best young prospects.
Before the injury, the 20-year-old was making a significant impact, holding a .261/.333/.478 line at Triple-A with eight long balls, one swiped bag, 24 RBI, and a 14:35 BB:K ratio.

Caminero got a small taste of the major leagues last season as he posted a .235 AVG with one home run and seven RBI in seven games.
Many frustrated managers may have dropped Caminero, as he will now be sidelined until July. However, there may not be a better opportunity to get a potential league winner on your roster at a low FAAB cost.
In addition, the budding superstar has logged starts at the hot corner, the keystone, and shortstop across his minor league career which is a good sign that he will be able to find consistent playing time once promoted to Tampa Bay.
The number three-ranked prospect in baseball is still a must-roster in all formats, as he should make an immediate impact once he rejoins the major league roster in July.
