ANALYSIS: New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez is nearing the end of his rehab assignment and could rejoin the major league roster later this month.
“The Martian” made his major league debut late last season and showcased his elite five-category contributions with four home runs, one swiped bag, and a .258 AVG in just eight games. However, the budding superstar had to underdog Tommy John surgery, which has kept him sidelined ever since.
Since starting his rehab assignment on May 14 with Single-A, "The Martian" has been making steady progress. He has already advanced to Triple-A, and in his 17 games in the minor leagues this season, the switch-hitting outfielder has maintained an impressive .339/.397/.581 line, with four home runs and one stolen base.

The 21-year-old is a legit five-category contributor and could become a league winner if given a full-time role in the Bronx. Currently, the Yankees have a deep outfield, which limits his potential early on. However, all it takes is one injury, and Dominguez can become an everyday player in one of the best lineups in baseball.
