Hunter Renfrow (WR, OAK) - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

Oakland Raiders wide receiver (WR) Hunter Renfrow is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 14 of the 2019 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: Consider this a stash and just an option in super deep leagues in which you have either the room to risk rostering a non-playing WR or are so needy of players that you must go all-in with risky gambles. That being said, Hunter Renfrow would be a must-add had he not been injured a couple of weeks ago. Before suffering a rib-related injury in Week 12 Renfrow had had better games than Tyrell Williams in five consecutive games. Even if we count this past Sunday (remember, Renfrow was inactive and Williams started), things wouldn’t change a lot: Williams had one reception for nine yards and 1.9 fantasy points.

All of this means that in the last six games of the Raiders Renfrow has 281 yards on 22 receptions (27 targets) and two touchdowns; to Williams’ 273 yards on 16 receptions (29 targets) and one touchdown. The numbers aren’t very different, but Williams has fallen off a cliff lately while Renfrow was hitting his season’s peak before getting injured with three out of four games scoring 11-plus fantasy points and even logging 19 and 17 in weeks 8 and 9.

Renfrow season might be over, again, so keep that in mind when adding/stashing him. This could turn into nothing more than a potential championship-game (Week 16) play for you this season. It is hard to know at this point, as coach Jon Gruden hasn’t given out much specific information, but Renfrow’s upside should make him an option to consider if you’re stacked already and looking for potential game-changers to have in your roster just in case. Add him only knowing that he might give you zero points ROS and in deeper leagues to take a sit in your bench for the time being until we know more about his status and potential comeback, or until he gets droppable due to him being shut down for the rest of the year.
