MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Freddy Peralta UNDER 6.5 strikeouts (-130 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Peralta has struggled to start the season as he has allowed nine earned runs over his first seven innings pitched while only striking out 10 batters, not eclipsing this total in either of his two starts. He draws a tough matchup against the Phillies who are only striking out at a clip of 20.1% vs. righties over the previous 10 days, which is the second-best mark in baseball.
Ranger Suarez UNDER 5.5 strikeouts (-150 Caesars Sportsbook)
We will stay in the same game for this next one as a Suarez under looks promising. The left-hander has only struck out five batters over his first 7 2/3 innings pitched and was barely over nine K/9 a season ago. He gets a matchup against a Brewers team that is striking out at a rate of just 21.8% against southpaws over the previous 10 days. They are posting just a 23 wRC+ mark over that same span, however, so Suarez could get some length in this one, which is a tad risky.
Tarik Skubal UNDER 5.5 strikeouts (-150 Caesars Sportsbook)
I whiffed on Skubal last week, and while he could quickly become my nemesis in 2022, I am going to take another shot on him in this one against the Rockies. Currently, the Rockies are posting the sixth-best K rate against left-handers over the previous 10 days with a rate of just 19.6%. Skubal has struck out 10 over his first 9 2/3 innings pitched this season and managed to strike out seven Royals in his last start. That being said, the Royals strike out vs. lefties at a much higher clip than the Rockies and are posting the second-highest rate (29.4%) over the previous 10 days.
MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
C.J. Cron OVER .5 home runs (+440 Caesars Sportsbook)
Cron has started the season rather hot as he now has six bombs over his first 48 at-bats. While only one of those bombs has come off a lefty, he did post a .990 OPS with eight dingers off of lefties in 2021. Skubal has yet to allow a home run to a righty in 2022, but we all know he is due to allow one as he gave up a whopping 25 long balls to them a season ago.
Matt Olson OVER 1.5 total bases (+130 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Olson has started the season raking as he now has a .500 wOBA with two bombs across his first 5- at-bats. He has always hit lefties well, and in 2021, he posted a .961 OPS against them. This looks like we are getting some solid value here since it is L vs. L against Trevor Rogers.
