Today's MLB Betting Picks - Brewers @ Cubs
O/U: 7 | Moneyline: MIL (-120)
MIL: Brandon Woodruff | CHC: Kyle Hendricks
This game is huge as far as the NL Central standings are concerned. The Brewers had their 9-game winning streak snapped last night as they fell to the Cubs 1-0 and Chicago closed Milwaukee's lead to just four games.
The odds continue to drift towards Milwaukee as they opened as +100 underdogs last night. That makes sense to me as the pitching matchup clearly favors the Brewers with Woodruff being the superior pitcher.
Kyle Hendricks has been effective this year, but he will face a lot of lefties in the Brewers lineup tonight. The Brewers have cut down on their strikeouts lately and Hendricks allows a lot of contact. The total here suggests a low-scoring affair and I agree, but I think the Brewers are much more likely to carve out some offense against Hendricks than the Cubs are against Woody.

Today's MLB Betting Picks - Astros @ Red Sox
O/U: 10 | Moneyline: HOU (-135)
HOU: Framber Valdez | BOS: Kutter Crawford
The Astros go for a series sweep tonight in Boston and I think they have a great chance of getting it done. Houston sends their ace, Framber Valdez, to the mound while Boston has to roll with Kutter Crawford. While Crawford has been pitching well, he's still a middle-of-the-rotation arm at best and will have his hands full today trying to slow down this surging Astros offense.
Lefties give the Red Sox some issues and force them into a lineup that is considerably weaker when they roll out guys like Rob Refsnyder and Luis Urias. Boston is an elite offense against RHP because they can stack up their best lefties and both Justin Turner and Adam Duvall hit right-handed pitching well, too. But against lefties, they are striking out much more often and their overall run production plummets.
With the way Houston is playing right now and the pitching advantage they have tonight, they should be more heavily favored in this game. I am taking their money line and banking on Valdez pitching well and the Astros completing the sweep in Boston.
