FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (4/3/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Thunder Dan Palyo highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 4/3/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Day three of the MLB season brings us several teams with their third game of the year, but many who are only playing their second game after having Friday off. We have games spread out throughout the day, so we only five games on the evening main slate.

If you thought we had too much pitching on opening day, just wait until you look at the pitcher pool today - the rotations fall off in quality quickly, leaving our options rather limited. It will take a week or two for the teams' schedules to stagger out enough where we have some aces on each slate, but for now, we have to rely on some stronger second and third starters from teams.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 4/3/2020. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Games:

Joe Musgrove – SDP vs. ARI ($8,600)

I was sad to see Musgrove depart Pittsburgh, as I am a Pirates fan (the long-suffering variety). He's not an overpowering pitcher, but he throws five pitches and can locate all of them for strikes. Last year he sported a career-high strikeout rate and now slots into the middle of a powerful Padres rotation. He's facing a rather weak Arizona lineup today and is backed by a good offense with a solid matchup of their own against Caleb Smith. As a -210 favorite, he trails only Walker Buehler on this slate in terms of Vegas favorites and I'm not interested in Buehler at Coors.

GPP Pivot:

Jose Berrios – MIN @ MIL ($8,800)

I want to keep attacking the Brewers with righties. Maeda labored a bit in the opener, allowing too many baserunners but also was the victim of some infield hits and bad luck. Berrios has dynamic stuff and a tremendous curveball that is his out pitch. It's a riskier spot than Musgrove's but could carry more strikeout upside and likely less ownership, too. He's facing a tough opponent in Corbin Burnes, but I think the Twins find a way to get him a few runs and a win on the road here.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Cody Bellinger – 1B, LAD at COL ($4,700)

You can't avoid the Dodger chalk today, especially on a short slate. They're facing Jon Gray, who has totally fallen apart over the last year despite once being a promising prospect. He throws hard but has been getting absolutely crushed by lefties and had a rough spring, too. Belli is off to a good start in this series, too, with three hits including a double and triple. It's a good bet that he leaves the yard tonight.

Jake Cronenworth – 2B, SD vs. ARI ($2,800)

This kid can flat-out hit, and it looks like we are going to see him in the lineup every day this year, including against lefties. I have no worries running him out there against a lefty, as he's shown the ability to hit them just fine in his career so far. He's off to an incredible start this year, reaching base six times in his first eight plate appearances!

Evan Longoria – 3B, SF @ SEA ($2,600)

Longo has gone yard on back-to-back nights but off lefties Kikuchi and Gonzales. His price hasn't adjusted at all, however, and he's still dirt cheap despite hitting in the four-hole and coming out of the gates red-hot. He'll face right-hander Chris Flexen today, who had some success in the KBO last year, but it remains to be seen if he can translate that into any MLB success.

Corey Seager  – SS, LAD @ COL ($4,500)

Seager is simply one of the best pure hitters in the game. I don't think that's an overstatement at all. He's off to a 5-8 start this year and has drawn three walks, too. Hitting in the two-hole behind Mookie Betts and in front of other big bats like Belli and Muncy, he's going to have a monster year. I'll eat this chalk today, I think Seager is one of the first clicks into your lineup.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Wil Myers – OF, SD vs. ARI ($3,300)

I really like Myers here as part of a Pads stack or just as an affordable cash play. He owns a career .200 ISO and .345 wOBA against lefties and Caleb Smith is a guy I want to target tonight (other than the obvious Dodgers stack against Gray in Coors). Myers went yard on opening day off lefty Madison Bumgarner and was on base twice again last night. He's hitting fifth in this potent Padres lineup and should have some RBI opportunities tonight.

Taylor Trammell – OF, SEA vs. SF ($2,500)

Trammell has yet to pick up a hit this season, but has drawn three walks and remains a great value here as he's hitting fifth for the Mariners. Logan Webb is the Giants starter tonight, and he's struggled against hitters from both sides of the plate. He's a low-K pitcher who gives up a lot of contact and I like Trammell's odds of getting on base and maybe swiping a bag, too, with his speed.

Alex Dickerson  – OF, SF vs. SEA ($2,800)

It's finally time to fire up one of my favorite DFS plays! Dickerson has yet to start a game as the Giants faced two lefties on Thursday and Friday. But today he should start and slot into the middle of the lineup. He hit second last year quite a bit but looks like he might move down to the five-hole. He had a pinch-hit homer on opening day and has awesome power against righties (.240 career ISO). He's my cheap dong call today and provides some value for us to fit in the Dodger bats we want.
