NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 3/30/24

HAPPY EARLY EASTER!!! The 2023-2024 season is now in the final stretch as teams battle for home-ice heading into the Stanley Cup playoffs!!! With multiple big trades this season and teams going all-in, the race for Lord Stanley is on!

Tonight we have a ten-game slate and one team playing on a back-to-back, the Buffalo Sabres. The currently live top-three highest implied team totals are: St. Louis with 4, Philadelphia with 3.8 and Carolina with 3.8. I will do my best to guide you through this ten-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Cam Talbot - DK $7.8K || FD $7.8K

Opponent - Calgary Flames

After some time off, we are back to targeting the Calgary Flames whenever they are on the slate. The Flames are the second-best-valued team in terms of Shots Per Goal Per 60 on the slate and that is backed by their last ten Per 60 stats, excluding splits. The visitors sit in the bottom ten in Goals For Per 60, but they are in the top ten in Shots For Per 60. Cam Talbot has been performing much better as of late with a 4-1 record, a 2.03 Goals Against Average and a 0.915 Save Percentage over his last five games. For under eight thousand in a prime matchup, Talbot has the potential to lead the goalie position tonight.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Hellebuyck (DK $8.1K || FD $8.6K)
  • Montembeault (DK $7K || FD $6.9K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Sidney Crosby - DK $8.3K || FD $8.5K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Crosby didn’t have a crazy game on Thursday in the first of the home and home stand against the Blue Jackets, however, he still managed two assists, three shots and one blocked shot. His salary has climbed a few hundred dollars on DraftKings in response. In the center’s last five appearances, he has two goals, eight assists, 15 shots and two blocked shots. In Per 60 stats against, excluding splits in the last ten games, the Blue Jackets remain the league’s worst team in Shots Against, Scoring Chances Against and High Danger Chances Against and they are the sixth-worst in Goals Against. Expect the captain to produce three shots and two points at the very least.

Morgan Frost - DK $4.3K || FD $5.3K

Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks

Frost arguably has one of the best matchups on the slate and sitting just above four thousand dollars on DraftKings makes it very enticing. Over his most recent five outings, he has three assists, 12 shots and two blocked shots. His shot volume is there, however, his point production is not and that could be related to a multitude of reasons and more specifically the lack of chemistry between lines currently. Nevertheless, Frost should see the middle six for the majority of the night and the bottom two pairings, which also happen to be two of the worst defensive pairings in the league. Chicago remains in the bottom ten in both Shots Against Per 60 and Goals Against Per 60. Furthermore, starter, Arvid Soderblom is in the bottom five in Goals Saved Above Expected Per 60 in the last ten games. Lastly, Chicago in their last ten away games are being heavily outscored five to 25.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Monahan (DK $4.6K || FD $6.3K)
  • Schenn (DK $3.7K || FD $5.4K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Owen Tippett - DK $6.6K || FD $7.4K

Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks

Staying in Philadelphia, we have winger, Owen Tippett. Depending on your ‘style’ of risk and reward, Owen Tippett or Bobby Brink - DK $2.7K || FD $3.8K is in play here. They are the two wingers who play with Morgan Frost. The major difference between the two is the shot volume Tippett generates and the opportunity Brink has on the top power-play unit. Tippett has two goals, two assists, 15 shots and five blocked shots throughout his most recent five games. The winger will be expected at the very least, three shots and one point tonight.

Drew O’Connor - DK $3.5K || FD $4.3K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

He scores once, takes four shots and blocks one shot in a close 3-2 win at home and his salary barely moves. This is PERFECT! O’Connor continues to make the best of it with Sidney Crosby. O’Connor now has two goals, 15 shots and six blocked shots over his last five games. As mentioned, the Blue Jackets are a bottom-of-the-barrel team right now, leaving plenty of opportunity for players to capitalize on.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Duclair (DK $4.9K || FD $6.2K)
  • Neighbours (DK $4.1K || FD $5.6K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Cam York - DK $4.6K || FD $5K

Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks

We will end things in Philly with two-way defenseman, Cam York. York has hit a bit of a dry spell recently with zero points, 17 shots and 14 blocked shots in his last five games. There is one glaring issue and one big pro. The glaring issue is the zero points in five games for York and the big pro is his continued ability to generate mass amounts of peripherals. York may not be relied upon as much on defense against Chicago, however, his shot volume should make up for that quickly, along with any point production. After all, he is expected to produce one point, two shots and one blocked shot.

Torey Krug - DK $4.4K || FD $4.9K

Opponent - San Jose Sharks

It only took Torey Krug three games after returning from his one night off to get back in the point column. Over his last five starts, he has three assists, 11 shots and 13 blocked shots. The two-way defenseman has been very spotty this season, however, he may be picking up some much-needed form at the perfect time. San Jose is the worst team in the league in Goals Against Per 60. Krug could be in store for a big night tonight.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Skjei (DK $5K || FD $5.9K)
  • Timmins (DK $2.7K || FD $3.6K)
