DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (1/3/17): NBA DFS Advice

The top DraftKings daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 1/3/17 by Tom Vecchio. Expert NBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings.

We have another eight game slate tonight, with some solid options all across the board. Could be some good options out there if you are looking for a game stack. Plenty of value options out there if you are looking for a GPP build, so let's get into it.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/3/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Mike Conley - PG, @ LAL ($6,500)

Mike Conley is back from his injury and is returning to form. He has scored 38 points or more in three of his last five games and he is in a spot to have a similar outing tonight. He is up against the Lakers who are giving up 49 points per game to point guards. Simply put, the Lakers are not very good on defense. They have a very young team, and they are struggling to find their identity on offense and defense. When there is a match up like this, you want to target in on the players going up against the weak team and lock them in. Could even be a good spot to stack Conley with Marc Gasol to get double points on some assists.

Tyler Johnson - PG, @ PHO ($5,700)

Tyler Johnson is a great cash game play for tonight vs the Suns. He is averaging 28 points per game for the year with, two of his last three games at 35 points or more. For his price, you really can't find better production. Even though he isn't the starting point guard, he hasn't played less than 28 minutes over his last 10 games. Minutes equal fantasy points, and for his price, I see plenty of opportunity. He is really only a cash game play since there is limited upside due his minutes limit. You basically know what you are getting from him and not much more.

John Wall - PG, @ DAL ($10,600)

John Wall is on some kind of streak lately. He has three straight games of 51 points or more. That is the kind of production is flirting with the levels that Westbrook is around. Now I know Wall isn't going to have that elite tier production, but he is less expensive than Westbrook. Wall is up against the Mavericks who are actually quite good on defense vs point guards, only allowing 40 points per game, which is second best in the league. But with the hot streak he is on, it doesn't seem anyone can stop him. Great option for GPP.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

LaMarcus Aldridge - PF, vs TOR ($7,600)

Aldridge has been somewhat consistent of late and it seems to be going unnoticed by some. He has scored 44 points or more in four of his lat five games. That is super strong for his price and he has a solid match up tonight. He is up against the Raptors who are on their sixth straight road game, and could very easily be feeling the affects of a long road trip. The Raptors are also giving up 46 points per game to power forwards which is seventh worst in the league. All signs are pointing to Aldridge having yet another success night, and could be used in either cash or GPP.

Andrew Wiggins - SF, @ PHI ($7,200)

I will always look to target players who are up against the 76ers, always. They aren't as bad as they were the previous few years, but they are still a bad team. This is the type of match up, where you might want to stack a few players from Minnesota together to try and soak up most of the offensive production. Wiggins has scored 37 points or more in two of his last three, and hasn't taken less than 18 shot attempts in all three. He is getting all the looks he needs on offense to have a successful game, its just a matter of knocking them down. The 76ers are giving up 41 points per game to small forwards, so this fall right in the wheelhouse for Wiggins and he should almost certainly hit value for you tonight.

JaMychal Green - PF, @ LAL ($4,800)

Green is cheap and he is consistent of late. He has scored 24 points or more in three straight games and is up against a weak Lakers defense as I mentioned before. For his price, and averaging 24 points per game, you get salary relief and reliability from a true role player on Memphis. The Lakers are second to last in the league when it come to guarding power forwards, giving up 48 points per game. That is dreadfully bad, and the type of match up you want to exploit.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Karl-Anthony Towns - C, @ PHI ($9,900)

Towns has actually been on a bit of a down trend lately, as he has had three of his last five games under 50 points. Now I know that its crazy to say that those are bad games, but he has high expectations for him and he certainly can do better. I think this is a good bounce back spot for him since he is up against the 76ers who are fourth worst in the league when it comes to guarding centers, giving up 51 points per game. Towns is a great GPP option for tonight and should really use this match up to get back on the up swing.

Rudy Gobert - C, @ BOS ($7,300)

Gobert is a fantastic cash option for tonight vs the Celtics. Over his last 10 games, Gobert has nice double doubles. I'll repeat that, nine double doubles in his last 10 games. That means whether its home or away, weak opponent or strong opponent, he is getting his. He also hasn't scored less than 31 points in those 10 games. He may be one of the most improved players over the past year, and is also in a great spot tonight vs the Celtics who are giving up 51 points per game to centers. Love him in this spot, mainly for cash games.
