DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (8/14/16): MLB DFS Advice

Welcome to the end of another great week on DraftKings. As always it's a full slate with things kicking off at 1:05 ET, so get those lineups in early before tourney's fill up!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/14/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings. The following targets have been selected for all day contests on DraftKings.

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including Draft Kit + DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through October. Premium DFS lineup picks, expert lineups, tools and more - seven days a week. You can see screenshots of our NFL Premium and MLB Premium and DFS tools. What are you waiting for?

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Twins versus Edinson Volquez

Volquez has been woefully bad lately, posting a combined four DraftKings points in his past three starts. Things don't get any easier versus a Twins lineup that has launched up the team hitting standings (10th in OPS), led by Joe Mauer, Max Kepler, and a resurgent Miguel Sano. I'm targeting Mauer, Sano, and Eddie Rosario in this game.

Blue Jays versus Mike Fiers

Fiers has been inconsistent for the Astros, with his main issue being the long ball. The issue crept back up in his last outing versus the Twins (3 HR allowed) and a date with the Blue Jays is not what the doctor had in order. Toronto's 119 home runs versus RHP is 2nd in baseball, and I've got my eye on Edwin Encarnacion, Josh Donaldson, and Michael Saunders.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Tyler Chatwood, COL @ PHI - $8,900

Chatwood has had a rough second half (4.55 ERA) but he has recently reported he is fully recovered from a mid-back strain and he looked the past in his last start (6.2 IP, 2 ER). He still owns a 1.35 ERA away from Coors Field and the Phillies .691 OPS versus RHP is 28th in baseball. I like Chatwood to keep it going today.

Tom Koehler, MIA vs CWS - $8,600

Facing Chris Sale is never the ideal situation, but I'm rolling with Koehler here for a few reasons. One is he's actually been pretty good. He is 3-0 with a 0.67 ERA in his last four starts and has been arguably the best pitcher for Miami in the second half. The second reason is no one is going to roster him for the Sale factor. That will lead to low ownership on a value pitcher to address the big ticket items on offense.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Gary Sanchez, NYY vs TB - $2,600

Sanchez is reportedly going to be a part of the Yankees lineup through the rest of 2016 and fantasy players need to take note. He has a .321/.345/.536 slash in his past 28 at-bats and can hit to all fields. He's got a great chance at exceeding value at this low price point.

First Base (1B)

Brandon Moss, STL @ CHC - $4,000

Moss has quietly become a key bat in a Cardinals lineup that's felt plenty of turbulence this season. He has a 1.021 OPS versus RHP and should be slotted in the cleanup hole versus a shaky John Lackey.

Second Base (2B)

Starlin Castro, NYY vs. TB - $3,500

Castro is heating up in August (.909 OPS) including home runs in consecutive ball games. He should be in the lineup the rest of the season during this youth movement and he has a .307 average hitting at home.

Shortstop (SS)

Carlos Correa, HOU @ TOR - $4,600

Correa has been on fire in the past week (three 20+ games) and has a .314/.386/.588 line in August. He looks poised to finish the season as a top-three shortstop.

Third Base (3B)

Hernan Perez, MIL vs CIN - $4,400

Perez has been a great story for the Brewers and he owns a .820 OPS versus LHP this season. He's a great HR/SB threat and comes at a reasonable price on DK, unlike Jose Ramirez.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Nelson Cruz, SEA @ OAK - $4,500

Cruz is a streaky player and looks poised to go another run after a rough start to August (.238). He has multi-hit games in three of his past four contests and gets a nice matchup versus Zach Neal today.

Starling Marte, PIT @ LAD - $4,000

Marte has had a slow August (.229/.325/.286) but has a great matchup versus Brett Anderson (.304 versus LHP) and came alive yesterday with a 20-point game. I'll roll him out again.

George Springer, HOU @ TOR - $3,800

Springer had scored in double-digits four straight games until yesterday, but we give him a pass versus Aaron Sanchez. Marcus Stroman is beatable and I expect Springer to continue his groove today.
