DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (11/20/22): NBA DFS Lineups

Stephen Curry - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on November 20th, 2022. Kyle Ringstad provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome to the weekend, RotoBallers. We have a solid seven-game slate on tap in the NBA tonight, starting at 6:00 PM ET. The Kings are looking for their sixth consecutive win and profile as the top team to target in DFS tonight, but the salaries of their top players make that a tough exercise to pull off. The Warriors are also in a superb spot tonight against the Rockets as neither team plays much defense and they both rank highly in pace of play, meaning we get some extra possessions for our DFS players. Let's get to it.

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 11/20/22. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Tyus Jones, vs. BKN (FD: $5,900, DK: $5,200)

Jones is always someone we should be interested in for DFS lineups when Ja Morant is off the floor. Most importantly, he's cheap for a player averaging a 24% usage rate and 1.03 FPTS/min with Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane off the floor this season. Getting production out of him at his depressed salary opens up many options for your DFS lineup. Second, the matchup is there for the taking. The game environment isn't great on the surface, but the Nets allow the sixth-most fantasy points per game to opposing point guards this season.

Stephen Curry, vs. HOU (FD: $10,500, DK: $10,700)

I want to get to Doncic as his ceiling is astronomical, but both sites priced him way up for tonight's matchup, and getting to him means you have to make serious sacrifices in your lineup. We don't have the type of value to make him fit into lineups comfortably, at least not at the moment. Curry is the cheaper alternative. He's not going to post a 40-point triple-double, but he's averaging 54.6 DK points and 32.2 real-life points per game this season and a date with the Houston Rockets has to have him licking his chops. The Rockets allow the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing teams this season and both teams rank in the top 11 in pace (GSW: #1, HOU: #11).

Bones Hyland, vs. DAL (FD: $5,800, DK: $5,600)

"Bones" has gone from a preseason folk hero to an everyday contributor in the Nuggets rotation. Bruce Brown got the start in place of Jamaal Murray on Friday, but Hyland still saw 27 minutes off the bench and put up his second consecutive game with at least 30 DK points. He's a solid all-around guard who takes a lot of shots and contributes defensively, which Denver will sorely need against Doncic tonight. Hyland has a team-leading 34.8% usage rate and 1.38 FPTS/min rate with both Jokic and Murray off the floor this season, and while his upside may be a bit capped if he doesn't start again, I'm still all over him as a mid-range guard play with increased minutes and usage.

Also consider: De'Aaron Fox, Alec Burks, Daishen Nix, Jalen Green, Gabe Vincent, Jaden Ivey, Killian Hayes, Bruce Brown, Donovan Mitchell

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Eric Gordon, vs. GSW (FD: $5,000, DK: $4,300) DraftKings

This is a DraftKings Special as he's too expensive to take shots on in FanDuel. Gordon exploded for 41.5 DK points last night as he took over the scoring burden in the absence of Kevin Porter Jr. and with Jalen Green shooting 2-for-10 from the field. KPJ is currently doubtful to suit up tonight, meaning we get another chance to target an affordable Gordon in a spot where the Rockets will sorely need his scoring abilities. The Warriors allow the fourth-least fantasy points per game to opposing small forwards this season, but they're also allowing the most three-pointers made per game to the position. It's a risk-reward situation with Gordon; I'd reserve him for tournaments.

Ben Simmons, vs. MEM (FD: $6,200, DK: $5,700)

Simmons seems to be starting to round into the type of player everyone expected him to be (at some point). We still need to see it consistently, but he's shooting efficiently from the field and he's contributing across the stat sheet. He popped off for 44.75 DK points in 32 minutes against the Blazers in his last game, going for 15 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and a block. That's the type of game we want out of Simmons, and potentially getting Kyrie Irving (Q) back tonight would take some pressure off Simmons from a defensive standpoint. He's simply too cheap for the type of game he possesses, and he's worth taking shots on at his suppressed salary tonight.

Also consider: Dillon Brooks, Brandon Clarke, Hamidou Diallo, KJ Martin, Bojan Bogdanovic, Jabari Smith Jr., Deni Avdija, Andrew Wiggins

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jarrett Allen, vs. MIA (FD: $7,400, DK: $6,400)

This play will look 100% more appealing if we get word that opposing starting center Bam Adebayo is inactive. Even if he's in, I am interested in Allen at his low (DK) salary. I recommended Mobley yesterday and he went OFF for 58 DK points against an undersized Hornets' frontcourt, but tonight, it's Allen's turn. Allen had a 20/12 double-double and finished with 46.5 DK points himself, so it's not like he disappeared or anything. Kevin Love is doubtful to suit up and while that doesn't do anything significant to Allen's per-minute rates, it does somewhat solidify his minutes as the Cavs don't want to play the likes of Lamar Stevens and Robin Lopez extended minutes.

Also consider: Evan Mobley, Steven Adams, Marvin Bagley III, DeAndre Jordan
