Kipp Heisterman's best MLB player prop bets for today (8/8/2025). Bet his home run props (HR props) and win money betting on MLB player props, including Shea Langeliers, Agustin Ramirez, Lenyn Sosa, and Geraldo Perdomo.
It is a typically large, full-to-be-exact slate for this Friday, August 8, 2025, which means we can look to take advantage of hitters in plenty of excellent conditions. Tonight, we have hitters with great pitching matchups. Additionally, we have some warm weather all across the nation as we enter the dog days of summer. There are numerous good spots to consider, but we need to narrow down the selections, which is exactly what I will attempt to do in this article.
The strategy for targeting home run props involves several key factors, such as batted ball metrics, lefty-righty splits, weather conditions, and park factors. We also want to ensure we're getting a favorable price with betting odds. In this article, I attempt to provide home run bets with as much value as possible. I try not to pick the obvious plays, especially when the plan is to use these plays in a round robin format. Hitting a couple of value home runs when we can provides significant upside in a round robin.
Below, you'll read about my favorite home run props from MLB games on Friday, August 8, 2025. Odds for each pick are from DraftKings Sportsbook and are subject to change throughout the day. Remember to always shop around at other sportsbooks for the best price so you can get more value on your wagers. Odds can vary greatly from one sportsbook to another.

MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (8/8/2025)
Here are all the hitters I'll cover for HR props on Friday, August 8:
- Shea Langeliers, Athletics
- Agustin Ramirez, Miami Marlins
- Lenyn Sosa, Chicago White Sox
- Geraldo Perdomo, Arizona Diamondbacks
Shea Langeliers OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+340 DraftKings)
We are going to start today's article with someone my boy, Casey Wilson, predicted to go deep yesterday, and for good reason. Shea Langeliers was also featured in this article last Friday, and he came through in a big way with a home run. Langeliers has been on an absolute tear lately, as he has posted a ridiculous 1.696 OPS with four home runs over the previous week.
This power surge is not all that unexpected, as Langeliers now has 22 home runs on the season. These home runs are also backed by pretty solid power metrics. Overall, Langeliers has posted an average exit velocity of 90.3 mph, which ranks him in the top 32% of the league. He has also posted a Barrels/PA mark of 8.1%, which ranks him in the top 16% of the league.
Tonight, he will be up against Tomoyuki Sugano, who has struggled a bit with the long ball. Overall, Sugano has allowed a total of 21 home runs, eight of which have come off the bats of right-handed hitters. He has also given up quite a bit of hard contact. He has allowed an average exit velocity of 82.6 mph, which ranks him in the bottom third of the league. He has also allowed 26.5% of baseballs to be hit 95+ mph, ranking him in the bottom 15% of the league.
Sugano has also given up a total of 10 home runs over his previous 10 starts and has allowed 1.9 HR/9 at home this season, which is exactly where he will be tonight.

Agustin Ramirez OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+450 DraftKings)
Agustin Ramirez has put up a terrific rookie campaign, now having smacked a total of 17 home runs while posting a .749 OPS. Ramirez has also been tearing the cover off the ball recently, as noted by his .976 OPS and two home runs over the previous week. He should be in a good spot to go deep tonight against Atlanta Braves' right-hander Bryce Elder.
Ramirez has hit right-handers quite well this season, having posted a .756 OPS with 12 of his 17 home runs coming against them. He has also been solid in terms of power metrics. On the season, Ramirez has posted an average exit velocity of 91.6 mph, which ranks him in the top 15% of the league. He has also posted a Barrels/PA mark of 92%, which ranks him in the top 8% of the league. Quite frankly, he has been terrific in terms of the metrics.
Elder, on the other hand, has not. Overall, he has allowed an average exit velocity of 82.9 mph, ranking him in the bottom fifth of the league. He has also allowed a Barrels/BBE mark of 5.6%, which again ranks him in the bottom 20% of the league. Additionally, he has allowed an absurd 30.8% of baseballs to be hit 95+ mph, which ranks him in the bottom 2% of the league. It is hard to believe someone has a worse rate than that.
Elder has also been hit hard by right-handed bats, as noted by the fact that he has allowed 10 of 17 total home runs to them. He has also allowed a .308 BAA to righties, so Ramirez would also be a nice candidate in the hits+runs+RBI prop market.

Lenyn Sosa OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+600 DraftKings)
Lenyn Sosa is a wildcard in this article, as he has hit just a total of 13 home runs this season, but he is more than capable of going deep in tonight's matchup against Tanner Bibee and the Cleveland Guardians. Sosa has been hitting the ball well lately, as noted by his 1.199 OPS and three home runs over the previous week, which means this is a great time to look at a home run prop.
The power metrics have been relatively solid for Sosa, as he has posted an average exit velocity of 90.6 mph, ranking him in the top 27% of the league. He has also posted a Barrels/PA mark of 6.6%, ranking him in the top third of the league. Sosa has done well against right-handed pitching as well. In 2025, he has hit 11 of his 13 home runs off righties while posting a .799 OPS.
Tanner Bibee, meanwhile, has struggled quite a bit with the long ball this season, having allowed a total of 21 home runs. Six of these home runs have come in his previous five starts. Right-handed hitters against Bibee have smacked 10 of the 21 home runs. The metrics also tell us Bibee has been struggling a bit. Overall, he has allowed an average exit velocity of 82.2 mph, which ranks him in the bottom 43% of the league. He has also allowed 24.9% of baseballs to be hit 95+ mph, ranking him in the bottom third of the league.
Geraldo Perdomo OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+650 DraftKings)
Geraldo Perdomo is another player we are looking at due to the success he has been having recently. Over the previous seven days, Perdomo has posted an .856 OPS. While he only has 11 home runs on the season, he is in a great spot in his home ballpark in Arizona tonight to go deep once again. He will be up against Colorado Rockies left-hander Austin Gomber, who has allowed a total of 10 home runs across just nine starts.
Much of the damage against Gomber has come against right-handed hitters, as noted by the fact that he has given up eight total home runs while allowing a .316 BAA against them. He has also allowed an average exit velocity of 82.9 mph, ranking him in the bottom 20% of the league.
Perdomo thrives against left-handed pitching, having posted an OPS of .813 against them. He has also done well at home, having posted an .864 OPS. His odds are pretty solid tonight as well, and makes for a solid addition to any round robin.
