ANALYSIS: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' good start to the season is now forgotten, as they have now lost four straight games since their Bye week. They have had a lot of problems this season, but surprisingly, QB play hasn't been one of them.
Mayfield had a dreadful performance against Detroit in Week 6, but he has been pretty solid since then. He has thrown for 777 yards (259 yards per game), five touchdowns, and just one pick with a 94.8 passer rating in the last three weeks and has ranked as the QB6.
Baker Mayfield is 0-4 when scoring 35+ points
defenses just don’t play defense

The problem with the Bucs has been their poor playcalling, but Mayfield has been good whenever he has been called upon. And it's not like the Bucs can't turn things around. Tom Brady's 2022 Bucs also had a 3-5 record at this point in the season.
Mayfield has also thrown for more touchdowns (12) than Brady did (nine) and did that with a higher passer rating (92.7 compared to Brady's 92.4). What benefitted Brady's Bucs was playing a favorable schedule after their eighth game, something that has happened once again this season.
Mayfield's Bucs will play against some weak teams like the Titans (19th in the least points allowed per drive), the Colts (25th), the Panthers (30th), and the Packers (22nd). Even their tough opponents are mortal, as the 49ers have fallen off after losing to the Browns, while Mayfield finished as the QB7 and the QB11 against the Saints and Falcons, respectively.
