BALLER MOVE: Start in All Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB1
ANALYSIS: New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been a fantasy superstar since stepping onto an NFL field. The veteran is the RB9 for the year despite missing the first three weeks because of an off-the-field suspension, averaging 17 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Kamara hasn’t been a rushing machine. He has more than 70 rushing yards only once this season, totaling 80 in Week 5 against the New England Patriots. Where the running back has been outstanding is in the passing game. Kamara is second on the team in receptions (63) and targets (73).
The superstar has had at least four receptions in 80% of the games in 2023, including seven of the past eight contests. Kamara could see even more target volume this week, with Chris Olave unlikely to play because of an ankle injury.
Today, the Saints face the New York Giants in a surprisingly critical matchup for both teams. The Giants have surrendered 21.5 fantasy points per game to running backs, eighth-most in the NFL. Running backs have had over 100 rushing yards and 20 or more fantasy points against New York in four of their past five matchups.
Fantasy players should slide Kamara into their RB1 slot and don’t think twice about it. The superstar is a must-start every week.
