Austin Cindric knew he had a fast car. He just needed a little help late in the race. Cindric led the last couple laps that mattered the most. Of the 21 led, the last two were the hardest. Cindric held out Bubba Wallace and a hard charge by Ryan Blaney late to win the Daytona 500. The 23-year-old driver wins the "Super Bowl Of Stock Car Racing" for his first triumph. Cindric started from the fifth position and was always lurking most of the race. The Stenhouse inevitable wreck with a few laps left put him in position to win.
