Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - Waiver Wire Picks for Monday 8/23

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 8/23/21. Frank Ammirante identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Welcome to the another edition of our daily fantasy baseball streamers! Are you playing in leagues with daily moves and looking to beef up those rosters? We here at RotoBaller are there for you and all of your streaming needs.

Each day RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in both shallow and deep fantasy baseball daily leagues. Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from Yahoo! leagues.

Today we have a 7-game slate, giving us a shallow pool of streamers.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 8/23 - Shallow Leagues

Ty France (1B/2B/3B, RHB, SEA) 68% Rostered

Matchup: at OAK RHP Paul Blackburn

France has been swinging a hot bat this month, slashing .367/.407/.620 with 13 runs, five homers, and 13 RBI in 86 plate appearances. His .433 wOBA is tied for 9th in MLB. France continues to hit in the three or cleanup spot for the Mariners, so he's in a good spot for run production. He also has an exploitable matchup against Blackburn, who is making his second start of the season.

Frank Schwindel (1B/OF, RHB, CHC) - 40% Rostered

Matchup: vs. COL RHP Antonio Senzatela

Schwindel finds his name on this list for the second week in a row, but this time, he's in the shallow league section, demonstrating how good he's been lately. Schwindel has slashed .368/.419/.662 with nine runs, four homers, and 15 RBI in 74 plate appearances this month. His .454 wOBA is tied for fourth with Juan Soto during this stretch. Schwindel continues to hit in the two-hole, so we'll keep riding the wave against Senzatela here.

Andrew Vaughn (1B/OF, RHB, CHW) 38% Rostered

Matchup: at TOR RHP Alek Manoah

Vaughn has really improved as the season has progressed and his prospect pedigree makes him even more enticing as a streamer. He has slashed .273/.385/.491 with a 15.4 BB% and 15.4 K% this month. That K/BB ratio is really impressive for such a young hitter. Vaughn's .380 wOBA is tied for 39th in MLB in August. This is an improving young hitter who is finishing his rookie season on a high note. Fire him up tonight.

Hitter Streamers for 8/23 - Deeper Leagues

Nicky Lopez (2B/SS, LHB, KC) 30% Rostered

Matchup: at HOU RHP Zack Greinke

Lopez has been on fire for the past week, with one homer and eight stolen bases. This hot streak has bumped him up to the two-hole in the Royals lineup. We all know how speed is a scarce commodity in fantasy baseball, so Lopez is now a priority pickup. He's more than a streamer and needs to be rostered in more leagues. Don't worry too much about the matchup against Greinke. Pick up Lopez.

Brendan Rodgers (2B/SS, RHB, COL) 20% Rostered

Matchup: at CHC RHP Kyle Hendricks

Rodgers is slashing .345/.387/.448 with a 19.4 K% in 62 plate appearances this month. He's also posted a .365 wOBA, which ranks 59th in MLB during this stretch. Rodgers continues to hit in the two-hole for the Rockies, so he's in a great spot. We can use him with teammate Connor Joe, who is also swinging a hot bat. These two hitters bat next to each other in the lineup, making them ideal for a Rockies stack.

Connor Joe (1B/OF, RHB, COL) 16% Rostered

Matchup: at CHC RHP Kyle Hendricks

Joe is another hitter who has done well this month, slashing .290/.375/.565 with 10 runs, five homers, and 14 RBI in 72 plate appearances. He's posted an 11.1 BB% and 16.7 K% with a .396 wOBA (26th). Joe has been a fixture in the leadoff spot for the Rockies, putting him in a great position for run-scoring opportunities. While he has a tough matchup against Hendricks, we have to ride the hot streak on this shallow pool of streamers.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/23 - Shallow Leagues

Huascar Ynoa (RHP, ATL) - 67% Rostered

Matchup: vs. NYY

Ynoa looked sharp in his first start since May 16th in his last outing, firing 5.1 shutout innings while allowing three hits, one walk, and four strikeouts against the Marlins. Obviously, this is a much tougher matchup against the Yankees this time around, but Ynoa's strikeout upside makes him the top shallow league streamer today. He could also come in at low ownership, making him appealing in DFS tournaments.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/23 - Deep Leagues

Daniel Lynch (LHP, KC) - 15% Rostered

Matchup: at HOU

Lynch has really started to turn the corner since being recalled on July 25th, putting up a 2.35 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 11 walks and 24 strikeouts in 30.2 innings. While it's a tough matchup against the Astros, Lynch has the most strikeout upside among deep streamers on this shallow slate. Add in his prospect pedigree and Lynch is an easy choice for today's streamer in deep leagues.
