3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Trent Sherfield strung together an impressive performance during Sunday's 15-10 preseason Week 2 win against the Los Angeles Chargers. The former Arizona Cardinals wideout was signed by the 49ers as a restricted free agent this offseason. Sheffield caught a 41-yard pass down the right seam from rookie quarterback Trey Lance to set up the team's first touchdown at the end of the first half on Sunday. Overall, he caught both of his targets for 50 yards and has reportedly developed a connection with Lance, meaning he could become the team's WR3 behind Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel in 2021.--Matt MacKay - RotoBaller
