Austin Gomber Shuts Down The Marlins Over Six Innings
Austin Gomber earned the win on Saturday when he gave up five hits while striking out nine over six scoreless innings in a 7-4 win over the Miami Marlins. Gomber was locked in on Saturday, striking out a season-high nine batters. He didn't allow a run after allowing four over just one inning pitched in his previous start. The 27-year-old southpaw is now 9-6 with a 3.79 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 98:28 K/BB ratio over 97 1/3 innings (19 starts). He gets the Giants on the road in his next turn, which is a tough draw. But he's earned enough goodwill over the last few months and can be started in that one.
