Byron Buxton Could Be Nearing Rehab Assignment
Byron Buxton (hand) will join the Twins on the field for "reasonably full workouts" when they return from their current road trip, according to Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com. Manager Rocco Baldelli said that the team will then assess his readiness for a rehab assignment later this week. Buxton has been limited to just 27 games this year, but he's put up great numbers when he's been on the field, slashing .369/.409/.767 with 10 homers, five steals, 19 RBI and 21 runs scored. Hopefully he'll be able to return to action soon and provide a good boost in value down the final stretch.
