Lorenzo Cain Progressing In Rehab Stint
Lorenzo Cain (hamstring) completed seven planned innings with Triple-A Nashville on Thursday. The two-time All-Star has gone 2-for-11 during his rehab stint that began July 8. The 35-year-old has only appeared in 31 of the 92 games this season for the Brewers, as he's battled hamstring and quadriceps injuries. On the season, Cain has three homers, nine RBI, 17 runs scored, four stolen bases and a .223/.322/.350 slash line in 118 plate appearances. The leg ailments are especially worrisome, as Cain's value is predicated on stolen bases; he's averaged 20 steals a season from 2012 to 2019. Barring any setbacks, look for Cain to return in late July.
