New York Rangers left wing Chris Kreider (undisclosed) will miss his first game of the season in Thursday's Battle of New York against the Islanders with Phillip Di Giuseppe drafted in to replace him. Kreider skipped the morning skate for maintenance and was deemed as a game-time decision, so he doesn't seem to be too badly hurt, but it seems like the 29-year-old bruiser isn't feeling well enough to play. Kreider has had a nice 20-goal campaign with 30 points in 50 games, and he's posted 115 hits and 102 shots with a minus-one rating. Igor Shesterkin is the starter between the pipes on Thursday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
