Lance McCullers Jr. Living Up To His Contract So Far
Lance McCullers Jr. has lived up to his five-year, $85 million contract extension early in the 2021 season. The 27-year-old right-hander went 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA in A games in spring training. His velocity is up into the high-90s and his wipeout curveball looks excellent. McCullers is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA, four hits allowed, six walks and 13 strikeouts in 10 innings pitched over two starts this year, both against the Oakland Athletics. If he can manage to stay healthy, McCullers could have the best season of his career. Fantasy managers are liking what they are seeing from the oft-injured starter, and he should continue to be a strong fantasy asset if he can continue to take the ball every fifth day.
