Blister To Delay Shohei Ohtani's Next Start
Shohei Ohtani (finger) will have his next start, which was scheduled to come this weekend against the Toronto Blue Jays, pushed back due to a blister issue, according to manager Joe Maddon. Ohtani is dealing with a blister on his right middle finger that also gave him issues in a spring start against the Dodgers on March 29. The blister doesn't affect his hitting, though, and he's expected to remain in the lineup as the designated hitter. Left-hander Jose Quintana will instead start on normal rest on Saturday, with right-hander Alex Cobb going in the series finale on Sunday. It's too early to know if the Japanese righty will go against the Kansas City Royals early next week or if he'll have to wait until later in the week. Either way, it doesn't appear to be a serious issue, and the Angels are just being cautious in the early going.
