St. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter reached base twice in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the New York Mets. Carpenter ended up 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and an RBI. Carpenter has been struggling mightily this spring, with Sunday's performance raising his batting average to .059 and his OPS to .390. Carpenter is more or less guaranteed a role on the team because of his history and veteran status, but the Cardinals would certainly like to see him improve on his slow start before Opening Day comes around. He's a risky pick in fantasy leagues, but his positional versatility makes him worth rostering in deeper formats.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
