Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott had an afternoon where little went right as he could not stay in the top-ten for most of the race. After ending up 13th at the end of Stage 1, he rose up to 8th after Stage 2. By the end, it was clear that Chase Elliott just did not have the car to contend at Homestead. He did lead four laps during pit windows but that was it. At least Elliott was not victimized by a pit-stop penalty like Denny Hamlin. However, Elliott still finished 14th -- three places behind Hamlin. Elliott will try to fare better next week in Las Vegas.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
