Edmonton Oilers goaltender Mike Smith secured his first victory of the season in backstopping his team to a 3-1 win over the Ottawa Senators on Monday evening. The veteran netminder, who has spent most of the campaign on long-term injured reserve, looked comfortable in turning aside 27 of 28 shots against in the contest. Expected to compete for the starting role with fellow goaltender Mikko Koskinen this season, Smith could return some sneaky fantasy value off of the waiver wire.
