Deivi Garcia Pulled After Only One Inning On Tuesday
Deivi Garcia lasted only one inning against the Rays on Tuesday, allowing one run before being relieved by starting pitcher J.A. Happ. Happ was up in the bullpen before any damage was done against Garcia, and it appears as though manager Aaron Boone used Garcia as a decoy starter to force favorable platoon matchups for Happ. It’s not clear how the Yankees plan to use Happ and Garcia going forward this postseason, but there’s no reason to be concerned for Garcia’s health at this point.
