Brett Rypien Has His Ups And Downs In Win Over Jets
Brett Rypien, making his first NFL start on Thursday night against the Jets, had some good and bad moments in the 37-28 victory. Rypien went 19-for-31 for 242 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) to help the team to their first win of the season. He made some nice throws at times, albeit against a bad Jets Defense, and also made some head-scratching decisions with the football. His first touchdown to rookie wideout Jerry Jeudy was a jump ball deep down the sideline that Jeudy made a nice play on. Rypien likely held off Jeff Driskel with his performance, but Drew Lock (shoulder) has a chance to return in Week 5 against the Patriots, so this might be a short-lived starting moment for Rypien.
