James Washington (WR, PIT) - Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups

Steelers wide receiver (WR) James Washington is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 4 of the 2020 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: We've seen the Pittsburgh Steelers returning to their usual pass-happy selves with a healthy Ben Roethlisberger here in the 2020 NFL season. Roethlisberger is a top ten fantasy quarterback so far this year and has thrown for 777 yards on 73 completions, with 7 passing touchdowns and just one interception. JuJu Smith-Schuster is also looking like his former self with 160 yards and three touchdowns already and is currently the WR6 in PPR scoring leagues and the WR9 in standard-scoring leagues. The next guy up in Pittsburgh has been Diontae Johnson, who has a concussion he's been dealing with.

James Washington is the third option in this offense and has really shown some explosive plays and has seen 3, 5, and 7 targets in their first three games with 92 yards and a touchdown, catching 10 of his 15 targets. No, these numbers aren't anything to get excited about, but if Johnson is going to miss time with this concussion, Washington comes into play in 12+ team or deeper leagues.

In Week 4 the Steelers are on the road against the Titans, which is not an ideal matchup the way their defense has been playing. However, if Johnson misses time, Washington is someone worth considering after we saw the Vikings put up some points against the Titans, despite losing 31-30. We saw Adam Thielen and rookie Justin Jefferson both have big days against this Titans Defense, and the way the Steelers are throwing the ball, Washington could see enough volume to be worth a Flex spot on your roster if you're hurting from all the injuries.

Don't go out of your way to use the waiver wire priority or a big chunk of FAAB, but if Johnson is out, feel free to grab Washington as a decent lower-end option in Week 4.
