The Milwaukee Brewers selected Miami shortstop Freddy Zamora with the 53rd overall pick in the second round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. Zamora entered college as a glove-first starter right away, but he's also made improvement in his offensive game over time. However, he was suspended in his junior year and then suffered a season-ending knee injury. The 21-year-old has great body control, range and a plus arm to play shortstop long term. He has a contact-oriented approach at the plate and is tough to strike out, and Zamora started to show some extra-base pop in his sophomore season.
