The Cincinnati Reds selected West Allegheny High School outfielder Austin Hendrick with the 12th overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft on Wednesday. Hendrick is a polarizing prep prospect because of his inconsistencies, but on his best days he was one of the best high school bats in this draft class. His quick hands and bat speed give him impressive raw power from the left side, but his high strikeout numbers are something that gave some scouts pause. At 6-foot, 195 pounds, Hendrick has the arm strength and athleticism to play center or right field at the next level. He has big-time upside and was recruited to play at Mississippi State. Hendrick's greatest quality is his above-average power for a young hitter.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
