The Kansas City Royals selected Texas A&M pitcher Asa Lacy with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft on Wednesday. Lacy was widely considered the top overall pitcher in this draft. He was taken in the 31st round by the Indians in 2017 out of high school. The left-hander ranked third in opponent average (.162) and was eighth in strikeouts per nine innings (13.2) as a sophomore in 2019. Lacy's fastball has improved and now sits in the mid-90s. He also has a curveball, slider and nasty changeup in his arsenal. Like many young pitchers, the 21-year-old needs to improve his command and control on the bump. But Lacy has front-line starting pitcher upside at the MLB level because he already generates a ton of swings and misses.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
