Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo will start life as the team's No. 1 in a tough matchup against Toronto on Friday. The 25-year-old Finn has shown some promise in his previous 90 NHL outings ahead of what should be a make-or-break year for him. Korpisalo has a 41-31-9 record so far in his career with a 2.89 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. He managed to record 10 wins in 21 starts last season. Korpisalo carries a positive 4-2-0 career record against the Leafs with a 2.68 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage. Elvis Merzlikins, who has zero NHL experience, is set to be Korpisalo's backup for the year. With that said, if Korpisalo fails to impress, the Latvian could find himself thrown in at the deep end.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
