The Carolina Hurricanes traded Justin Faulk (along with a 2020 fifth-round draft pick) to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for prospect Dominik Bokk, defenseman Joel Edmundson and a 2021 seventh-round pick on Tuesday. Following the deal, the Blues locked up Faulk for the next eight seasons, inking the offensively-gifted blueliner to a seven-year, $45.5 million contract extension. The 27-year-old is coming off a 35-point (11 goals, 24 assists) season in Carolina and has eclipsed 30 points in each of his past six seasons. With Alex Pietrangelo manning the Blues top power-play unit, Faulk may be relegated to the second unit but remains a valuable fantasy defenseman as he adds strong peripherals (217 shots, plus-nine rating, 156 hits in 2018-2019). He'll immediately jump onto one of the Blues' top-two defensive pairs.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
