Mookie Betts 2019 Outlook - AL MVP clashes with Mike Trout for No. 1 spot in Fantasy
Mookie Betts struts into 2019 fresh off the heels of winning a World Series, the A.L. MVP Award, and a Batting Title. The 26-year-old superstar boasted a 129 R/32 HR/80 RBI/30 SB/.346 BA roto-slash atop the Red Sox lineup in his third full season. Betts was also one of only two players to reach the 30/30 milestone, possessing a hard-hit, pulled fly-ball profile that devours even the largest of green monsters. Slated to hit in the two-hole in 2019, expect the RBI total to flirt with triple-digits behind on-base machine Andrew Benintendi without the Run total taking much of a hit. Based on his career .315 BABIP, the batting average is the one category one would expect regression in this season, but considering Betts has increased his line-drive and hard-hit rates for the past three seasons, don’t expect it to fall far. The Betts vs Trout war will wage on for years to come to the enjoyment of all baseball fans, but the high-octane bats at the top of the Boston lineup could give Betts the edge yet again in 2019.
Talk about being on top of the world.
