Chris Thompson, Trent Williams Ruled Out
Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said that running back Chris Thompson (ribs) and left tackle Trent Williams (thumb, shoulder) have been ruled out for Week 9 against the Falcons. Williams had surgery to fix his dislocated thumb. Thompson continues to struggle with injuries, and he's been a low-end RB3/flex in PPR leagues when he does play. This remains Adrian Peterson's backfield, and he should once again be a strong RB2 this Sunday as long as the team doesn't fall too far behind. Expect to see Kapri Bibbs handle the passing work. He's in play as an RB3/flex in deeper PPR formats. It's unclear how long Williams will be out, but it's not a good sign for quarterback Alex Smith's pass protection.
