Wilson Ramos With Two Homers Monday Versus Washington
Wilson Ramos hit two home runs Monday versus the Nationals. Ramos was excited to play against his old team and admits that he pressed a little too much the first time the two teams met. There is also speculation that Ramos and Washington could be a good fit in the mid-season trade market. Washington could use some offensive help at the position and the Rays likely would like to get something for Ramos before he becomes a free agent. Ramos is among the league leaders for hits as a catcher in 2018. Ramos now has 11 home runs and 39 RBI to go with a fantasy-friendly .293 batting average. The batting average and stats are much more appealing given the standards for catchers to be useful in fantasy. His 2015 season was a success, as he hit 22 HRs with 80 runs batted in and a .307 batting average over 131 games played. He has never been a major source of runs scored, but if he can stay healthy, he has the upside of a starter in most fantasy leagues. If you have the bench space, the smart play is to pair Ramos with a steady catcher.
